How to get there:

Gaborone the capital in her south east is the principal gateway into Botswana. Her Sir SeretseKhama International Airport is visited by several regional airlines including Air Botswana, South African Express, Ethiopian Airlines, Air Namibia and AirLink SA. Most international visitors connect via Johannesburg. The city Maun, sitting in northern Botswana just south of the Okavango Delta is the tourism capital and the preferred tourism port of entry. A relatively small town of 55,000 people, it home of Maun International Airport, and much closer to the country’s most popular tourism attractions including the Okavango Delta, Moremi National Park, Chobe National Park and Central Kalahari National Park. Maun International Airport receives several regional airlines. Air Botswana provides frequent scheduled domestic flights between Gaboroneand Maun making entering Botswana via Gaborone or Maun a feasible option. Maun International is also a hub for domestic charter flights around the Okavango Delta, Moremi National Park, Chobe National Park and Makgadikgadi National Park.

Health Requirements:

A yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is required for all persons arriving from a Yellow Fever endemic area.

Botswana and especially the areas of her most popular tourism attraction sites including Okavango Delta sitin a Malaria endemic area. We recommend anti-Malarial prophylactics, use of a mosquito repellent and sleeping under a mosquito net. Please speak to your physician on the recommended anti-Malarial prophylactics before departing The CDC and WHO recommend vaccines for Typhoid and Hepatitis A.

VISA Requirements

Most visitors require a visa to enter Botswana. Majority of the European Union, most Commonwealth countries and the USA do not require a visa. For the specific requirements appertaining to your nationality/passport, please see Requirements-for-VISA-application/ Advance Visas may be obtained from the Botswana Embassy or High Commission nearest to you or at the Botswana port of entry where allowed. A Botswana visa may take 7 to 14 working days to get so we recommend you apply well in advance.

Other recommended vaccinations are Typhoid and Hepatitis A.
